More than a Wheelchair

As a teenager with a chronic illness, who often uses a wheelchair, it can be so easy to define myself as "the sick girl" or the "girl in a wheelchair," but I am SO much more than that! Though this illness is really hard, it has led me to do things in life that I would not have otherwise done. I have started this foundation and have already helped so many kids! This trial has shaped me into who I am today, but I am not my illness because everyday I choose to rise above it. Never let the world define you. You are so much more than your limitations, whatever they may be.

​Carli has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She wrote an article about how she has chosen to rise above her trial and not allow it to limit her. Carli has chosen to find the purpose of her trial rather than allowing it to drown her. Her story is a huge inspiration to me! You can read Carli's story below:
